Event Introduction:
Founded in 1993, BIO International Convention (BIO) is the annual meeting of the U.S.-based Global Biotechnology Innovation Organization (GBIO); the world's largest, most professional, and most influential biotechnology event, representing the entire biotechnology ecosystem.BIO is designed to help grow the global biotechnology industry. By supporting biotechnology programs and initiatives, profits from the BIO International Congress are returned to the biotechnology industry. 20,000 industry leaders from around the world attend the show in 2024.
The show does not aim at trade transactions, but focuses more on the mode of both exhibition and conference; providing a platform for enterprises, science and technology parks and R&D institutions to publicize and display; and providing a comprehensive platform for exhibitors and participants to exchange and disseminate information, technological cooperation and transactions, and risk investment and financing by organizing professional forums, conferences, exchanges, and docking and negotiation activities.
Whether you work at a public pharmaceutical company, biotech startup, academia, non-profits, and government or are a researcher, business development professional or investor, BIO is where you'll make valuable connections and build relationships. Our proprietary BIO One-on-One Partnering™ match-making platform—included in the Premier Access registration package—allows you to find potential partners, schedule and accept meetings.

Why Attend BIO?
1. Catering to Emerging Biotech Companies: BIO is committed to catering to the needs of small and mid-sized companies because most of them have yet to have their major products approved and marketed. Whether it is advocating for tax policies that support innovation or encouraging an economic and policy environment that facilitates biotechnology investment, we focus on the key issues affecting small companies and develop programs to facilitate their growth.
2. Advocating for Healthy Biotechnology Innovation: BIO promotes biomedical innovation by developing and advocating for public policies that represent the best interests of members concerned about human health. We break down the barriers that impede innovation in the U.S. by reducing bureaucratic barriers to life-saving technologies. Priorities include matters affecting the healthcare-related regulatory and reimbursement environment, pandemic and biodefense preparedness, publicly funded scientific research, and personalized medicine.
3. Breakthrough agriculture and environmental optimization: BIO is committed to supporting biobased breakthroughs at all stages of development and for technology developers of all types and sizes. From public education campaigns to promoting regulations that keep pace with innovation, we face policy challenges and activism that can threaten food and farm innovation, biobased manufacturing, and green energy breakthroughs.:
