Description of the event

Pittcon is the world’s largest annual premier conference and exposition on laboratory science. It is organized by The Pittsburgh Conference on Analytical Chemistry and Applied Spectroscopy, a Pennsylvania not-for-profit educational corporation which is comprised of the Spectroscopy Society of Pittsburgh (SSP) and the Society for Analytical Chemists of Pittsburgh (SACP).
Pittcon attracts more than 18,000 attendees from industry, academia and government from 90 countries worldwide and is managed by a committee of volunteers and a 11-person staff. Proceeds from Pittcon fund science education and outreach at all levels, kindergarten through adult.

Pittcon’s target audience is not just “analytical chemists,” but all laboratory scientists—anyone who identifies, quantifies, analyzes or tests the chemical or biological properties of compounds or molecules, or who manages these laboratory scientists. Having grown beyond its roots in analytical chemistry and spectroscopy, Pittcon has evolved into an event that now also serves a diverse constituency encompassing life sciences, pharmaceutical discovery and QA, food safety, environmental, bioterrorism and other emerging markets.

Lab Gauntlet

Test your lab skills on a variety of fun but challenging lab activities. There will be two Lab Gauntlet challenge sections, Lab Ninja and Lab X-treme. Prizes will be awarded daily for the best scores. Those who run the gauntlet will receive a t-shirt.

Virtual Reality Experiences

More real than reality. Virtual reality creates an immersive, believable experience that engages both your body and your mind. Be transported to places that you might otherwise never get to experience or become part of the game in a virtual world.

Alligator Alley

Alligator Alley, located in the middle of the exposition floor, will engage all the senses and will be an experience that attendees won’t want to miss. In addition to providing places to rest or grab lunch, the “Alley” will offer several exciting activities in which conferees can participate.
