Photonics & Laser
Date: TBD, 2025
Venue:Ricoh Arena, Coventry, UK
Organizer: SPIE - the international society for optics and photonics
Frequency: Annual
Co-located Show: Vacuum Expo
Description of the event:
This event is the UK's meeting place for the world's greatest scientific minds. It attracts researchers and engineers whether in industry or academia who come together to examine new-to-market products, research solutions, review current applications, investigate future solutions and to share knowledge.
Join your peers - at Photonex the most diverse and comprehensive exhibition and conference of its kind - spanning biophotonics, lasers for research and advanced manufacturing, sensors, camera systems, imaging, communications and optoelectronics, plus optical components for all these sectors and beyond...
Vacuum Expo is a free event that brings the whole supply chain together under the one roof: supplier companies, consultants, universities, science groups and innovative new-comers.
The Vacuum Expo exhibition enables you to research solutions, examine technologies and investigate applications for the many different uses in research and industry.

Why you should exhibit:
Photonics is one of the fastest-growing technologies in the world today of enormous importance to scientific research and industry alike. Most recently being developed is Quantum Technology which could become a potential billion pound industry for the UK.
If your business supplies components, instruments, systems or perhaps a contract service to the photonics and laser industry you need to be at Photonex 2020.
Show yourself to be an industry leader and give a talk at the co-located Enlighten Conference. Presenting at one of our many meetings provides an additional platform for you to engage with new markets and customers.
Exhibit Profile:
Optical component, optical material, optical coating system, optical sensor, Optical instruments,
optical electronic equipment, photoelectric components, production and application of optical components, testing technology and equipment, Optical fiber products and technical equipment,
optical transmission equipment, information technology, Light source, Laser equipment and components,
laser system and safety equipment infrared equipment and technology,
UV technology, Network technology and Application.
The Photonics Market:
The production volume of the European Photonics industry accounted for €69.2Bn in 2015,
corresponding to a global market share of 15.5%. Growth in the photonics industry was much
stronger than general industrial production across Europe which had essentially stagnated from
2011 to 2015. In contrast, the European photonics industry had grown over the same period and
today directly employs some 300,000.
Closer to home, recent analysis by the UK Photonics Leadership Group (PLG) and Knowledge
Transfer Network (KTN) estimated that there are at least 650 photonics companies in the UK
contributing £12.9Bn to the economy per year and employing 65,000 people.
