Exhibition Highlights:
1. Better Stand Program: In line with the Organizers' commitment to the development of the exhibition industry, they will move away from the use of disposable stands, which generate a large percentage of the show's waste. The organizers are asking exhibitors to adhere to their “Quality Stand Program” in order to provide a more convenient, better, safer and more sustainable exhibition experience for all delegates. They also encourage exhibitors to minimize the amount of handouts and materials they bring or transport to the venue.
2. Catering: The organizers aim to provide a delicious, healthy and sustainable menu for exhibitor delegates. They have partnered with a local catering company to offer seasonal and regional foods wherever possible, as well as a wide range of plant-based foods, and to accurately plan order sizes to avoid wasted pre-prepared foods. Leftover food and waste from the food production process will be used to produce biogas for municipal transportation. Ceramics and cutlery will also be available at the fairgrounds, and for disposable items they have switched to fully biodegradable materials.
3. Encouraging public transportation: The organizers are encouraging show delegates to use public transportation to get around during their participation, and they are also working closely with the local government to provide exhibitor delegates with easy access to the local transportation network.
4. Printed materials: BIO-Europe will be delivered in 100% digital format, which means that no paper products will be used on site. The organizers will have QR codes in several locations to make it easy to scan for information: this will include the event floor plan, promotional materials, conference information, partner and presentation schedules and any other relevant documents.
5. Lanyards and name tags: plain paper name tags without plastic sleeves will be used during the event. In addition, lanyards will be collected and fully recycled after the conference. The organizers encourage all attendees to place their lanyards in the recycling bins located at the entrance of the Exhibition Center after the event.
6. On-site Wellness: In addition to external activities, the organizers will set up a wellness lounge within the conference venue to provide massage services to rejuvenate your energy between collaborative sessions. “Rest and Breathe” sessions will be organized throughout the conference to give delegates time to refocus and prepare for the next event. The venue will also provide a quiet space for meditation and prayer.
7. CONFERENCE AGENDA: The goal of the show is to contribute to the sustainable development of the biotechnology industry through the events it hosts. This is reflected in the diversity of content, speakers, and opportunities for young companies, including through company showcases of all levels, geographies, and sizes, as well as opportunities for startups through the show's Startup Spotlight competition.
